Always An Opportunity

With the current selloff happening in the stock markets, due to "Brexit" last Friday. I'm again reminded there is always an opportunity to be had. With what seems like panic again grabbing the stock market, I'm taking advantage of some awesome home loan pricing.

My mortgage guy called me last week and said rates were again at a low and I should consider refinancing. This is at least the 4th time in 3 years. They seem to be going ever, ever lower. I've refinanced each time without any cost and locked in a lower fixed rate each time. It looks like this time I'll be considering 2.5% on a 15 year or a 3.25% on a 30 year conforming. Either way, the loan will be paid for by a credit, I never buy down the rate. I'm not sure how many people watch for these types of opportunities, or have a mortgage guy that keeps them in the loop, but dropping my interest rate at least 3/8 will save me plenty over the life of the loan.

So why aren't more people taking advantage? Likely they see the market crashing and fear focuses them on other things. That or they are just too busy -kids are always graduating this time of year, or maybe it's vacation, or something else. Sure there will be other great deals, plenty of stocks are getting cheap...

No matter the situation, you need people that help you take advantage of the deals. It's tough to know or watch everything. But when you have the right people in your circle, you don't have to know everything. They will key you in on certain things and you can focus on the opportunities in your zone of genius (something I learned in an awesome book called The Big Leap).

Learn to look for the opportunity, or at least connect with people that will help you spot them. You can't know everything, you just need to know someone that does...
